Bark, Leaf: Used in skin diseases (smallpox).

Leaf: Used as a styptic.

Flower: Used as a tonic.

Action:

Flower—anti-inflammatory, styptic (used for bleeding piles, haematuria, ulcers).

Charred flowers and bark, mixed with the powder of Mallotus philippinensis, are applied to smallpox eruptions.
